Today is a great day for fishing, or perhaps it is naturally an amazing summer day that excellent for anything.I am a novice, so my game is to catch a dinner and not a winner. While purchasing bait from the local fish supply store, I asked for a word of advice. The young mate gave me guidance about bait, hooks, sinkers and so on.The most meaningful piece of his advice was:“A bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work.”
We arrive at a stunning river, and I drop a line.Sun is high in the sky, and the temperature is rising.I sense a soft breeze at my back while my face cuddled by the sunshine.Birds singing and swimming around, gentle splashing of the water and the views preoccupy my attention up till I feel the familiar pulling of a fish on the line. That’s my favourite moment that I call “game on."Not only this game about rules, technique, approach and of course luck but also about winners or losers, even though more often than not my bait disappears.I can hear the fish laughing at me under the water surface and questioning who is feeding whom.
Fishing was good it was the catching that was bad.
